Our network delivers coverage in 97.5% of places Kiwis live and work. We've invested $550 million in building a world class network. Our new super fast 4G LTE network now covers over a third of our population, with two-thirds of the population expected to be covered by the end of 2015.
4G is now live in parts of Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch delivering data speeds up to 10 times faster than standard 3G. As long as you are in an area with good 4G coverage and have a 4G ready device you can expect a much better mobile experience online.
Hear what some of our customers have to say about coverage with 2degrees.
As the newest mobile network player in the market, we have taken a very systematic approach to the rollout of our network to ensure we get it right for our customers. We started with 2G, then later added 3G across our national network. This has included the installation of 3G at 900MHz across all of our sites which is providing a 'boosted' 3G service to many of our customers across the country. In addition to that, 4G is now live in parts of Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch, with work underway to bring 4G to other parts of NZ in the near future.
The way you configure your device is very important to the mobile service you receive. To ensure you get the best network coverage, we recommend you set your 'Network' selection to 'Automatic' rather than it being locked to 2degrees. Also check that Network mode is on 'Auto' (LTE/GSM/WCDMA) to pick up the networks 2G, 3G or 4G signal. For help with your phone settings please visit our Mobile Settings page.
