Using your iPhone on 2degrees

You should be able to use your iPhone as soon as you pop in your 2degrees SIM card. If you find a particular feature that isn’t working, we’ve provided the steps and settings you can enter manually.

Make sure your iPhone has the latest Carrier Settings Update for 2degrees.

The Carrier Settings Update will automatically apply the correct settings on your iPhone required for using Mobile Data, MMS (picture messaging) and your Personal Hotspot on the 2degrees Network.

To install the 2degrees Carrier Settings update on your iPhone, you need to ensure you are running the latest version of iOS (iOS 7 or greater is required). To manually update your carrier bundle, select Settings > General > Software Update and install.

If your iPhone is running iOS 6 (or lower), you won't be able to get the Carrier Settings update for 2degrees. Instead, we recommend you visit our Mobile Settings page and enter your handset make and model for the manual setup instructions, or see the details below.

If you’re still having trouble, try resetting your Network settings.

To reset your Network settings:

  1. Tap on Settings
  2. Tap on General
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset
  4. Tap on Reset Network Settings. Your iPhone’s network settings will now reset.

All mobile settings will be reset to their defaults and the correct settings required for Internet, MMS (picture messaging) and your Personal Hotspot to work on the 2degrees network will automatically be applied.

iOS9 - Wi-Fi Assist

Wi-Fi Assist is a new handy feature for iOS 9 users. When this feature is enabled, your handset will switch to using cellular (regular mobile) data if your Wi-Fi connection is weak.

Wi-Fi Assist is enabled by default if you update to iOS 9.

To view or change this status go to Settings > Cellular and scroll to the bottom where you will see ‘Wi-Fi Assist’.

Problems with texting?

Most of the time texting will just work once you’ve popped in your 2degrees SIM card.

If it’s not, you might need to manually enter what’s called the ‘Service Centre’.

The Service Centre needs to be set as: +64220227672

You can check what your Service Centre is currently set to by dialing *#5005*7672# (like you would dial a phone number) then press the green Call button. If this is blank or not set to +64220227672 you’ll need to change this.

Dial **5005*7672*+64220227672# (tap this in all together with no spaces), then press the green Call button.

Done! You should restart your phone to apply the settings.
