Geeks on Wheels

Geeks on Wheels are a mobile computer support task force.

The idea was born when CEO Matthew Carr-Gomm endured a frustrating visit to a computer shop where he thought the service wasn’t up to standard. The experience got him wondering about the less technologically able and how frustrating the experience must be for them. Their first car a Holden Barina, hit the streets in 2005, eleven years, nine New Zealand cities and towns later, they’re a technological force to be reckoned with. The public’s dependency on technology is changing at an alarming rate so Matthew feels a strong responsibility to help people keep up.

“Our mission is really just to help people get the most out of their computers, not just rushing in there and quickly fixing it and rushing out, it’s about listening to the customer and it’s about empowering people to know more about their technology than before we came.”geeks on wheels case study group

Customer service for him is the crux of good business and that’s where 2degrees comes in. A mobile repair service means being out on the road and visiting people in their homes, so remaining in contact and being able to share information reliably across 40+ technical staff is crucial. It’s key to their business that coverage and connectivity is extremely reliable.

“Being in the IT industry its really important that we align ourselves with a really good reliable partner such as 2degrees. Getting that great 4G coverage, which often is a lot better than peoples home internet connection, is absolutely vital to the smooth running of our business.”

The ongoing personalised customer care is another reason why 2degrees is such a good fit.

“The thing we appreciate the most with 2degrees is having that relationship with our Business Sales Consultant. We get the feeling that they really care about the business and they’re very responsive and help us out with all of our needs.”

“I’d recommend 2degrees to all Kiwi businesses that are looking for a good mobile service provider.”
