Carus

Carus case studyKeeping clients’ commercial properties and buildings at their best and enhancing their serviceable life is what property maintenance company Carus does best.

The company has grown significantly, recently named fifth in the Deloitte Fast 50* and is the fastest growing services business in the South Island. Backing Carus all the way and providing it with the flexibility and communications it needs to accelerate its growth path is 2degrees.

A valued customer for over four years, Carus uses both 2degrees’ broadband and mobile connectivity to run its operations across six offices, which services hospitals, rest homes, universities and body corporates from Northland to Invercargill.

“We’ve experienced a huge amount of growth in recent years and 2degrees has made it easy to expand our communications along the way,” says Harvey Fisher, Carus’ General Manager.

“As we have grown and added new team members, our communications needs have grown significantly which have been taken care of seamlessly by 2degrees. There’s no hassles, we have one point of contact and everything seems to happen whenever we need it. 2degrees’ ‘consider it done’ attitude and personal approach has also made the journey all the more enjoyable.”

Fisher says with a lot of their staff working out in the field, technology is fast becoming key to running a smooth operation.

“Everything in our business is now cloud-based which means we run a relatively paperless operation. We are hugely reliant on our mobile data out in the field as we operate a timesheet app which records time spent on jobs in real-time. We have a pool of data for our tablets and use Carryover Data for our mobiles which makes the whole thing easy to monitor and manage - and it only took a simple phone call to 2degrees to get it all up and running.”

Fisher says Carus remains focused on future growth and having a partner like 2degrees alongside it has been invaluable.

“When we first looked at moving to 2degrees, a stand-out for us was the flexibility it provided. One thing we have learnt is what is right for us now, may not be in another year or two. Other networks wanted to lock us into individual two-year plans but with 2degrees, we have been able to maintain flexibility and expand our communications plans as we have grown,” he says.

“Cost is also a key factor and we have always felt we are getting true value for money for both our mobile and broadband services with 2degrees. We love how it has always done things differently to other providers and has effectively shaken up the market. Flexibility and competitive pricing is fundamental to its offering and 2degrees’ service then fully backs it all up,” he says.

“We’re proud to be a 2degrees customer and look forward to continuing to grow and evolve our business alongside it into the future.”
