Driving with mobiles

From 1 November 2009, it’s illegal to use a handheld mobile while driving. That means no texting, talking, taking pics or checking your emails while you’re behind the wheel.

The new law only allows you to make and receive a call if you are using a handsfree kit, or if your mobile is totally voice activated.

2degrees backs the changes to our road rules completely, it’s a small yet significant step in keeping our roads safer. For greater safety we suggest that you turn your mobile off and collect your messages when you’ve stopped driving.

If you’re keen to find out more about the new road rules, check out: www.nzta.govt.nz

If you haven't got yourself a handsfree kit yet, we've got some great offers for you. Right now we're giving away a free Bluetooth headset with every Bluetooth compatible phone sold on our online store until stocks last.
