To help create tomorrow’s skilled Maori ICT workers, the 2degrees Hei Rere Mai Scholarship Programme offers scholarships to Maori studying towards ICT qualifications at the University of Auckland.

By funding course fees and reasonable expenses, the aim is to ‘break the barrier’ to Maori participation in ICT. 2degrees has made a total commitment of $50,000 per annum.

Scholarships are available for students studying up to degree level, with funding of up to $10,000 per applicant, per year, and can include funding towards the costs faced by students who must relocate to Auckland. For qualifications requiring more than a year’s study, further funding will be paid on the basis of grades achievement.

Scholarship winners will also be required to participate as role models in the Accelerating Aotearoa’s Talent programme, visiting Auckland schools to inspire younger Maori students, and may also have the opportunity to undertake internships with 2degrees.
